Driver Spotlight: Ahmed's Story
How one of our top-rated drivers built a livelihood on the Nala platform.
Ahmed has been driving with Nala Taxi since 2022. With a near-perfect rating and hundreds of completed trips, he's one of the most requested drivers on the platform — and one of the friendliest faces you'll meet in Malé.
"I joined Nala Taxi because the driver app is simple and the fares are fair," Ahmed says. "Before, I spent a lot of time waiting at taxi stands. Now the trips come to me."
Ahmed's day usually starts early. He accepts airport runs in the morning, covers business-district rides during lunch, and finishes with evening trips around Hulhumalé. His secret to great ratings? "Be on time, keep the car clean, and always greet people with a smile."
When asked for his favourite local spot, he doesn't hesitate: "The Hulhumalé beach road at sunset. I tell passengers to roll down the windows if the weather is nice."
